Case Study

Hello people how are you? I hope all are doing good. So, here we go,,,,,
I had a patient named Jaspal kaur 78y/f  complaining about bilateral knee pain and saying that left knee was more painful than right. After listening to the patient i completed her assessment saw her radio-logical findings and the diagnosis was clear that she was suffering from B/L knee osteoarthritis and left knee was more affected than the right and there was also slight osteoarthritic changes in the other joints of her body but was not painful yet. Medial side of the left knee was affected more.
So, after completing the assessment and after making a satisfactory diagnosis then i was ready to make a effective treatment protocol:-
so, i decided to give her this treatment for 15 days,
1. Hot pack
2. Patellar grating
3. Quadriceps strengthening with 1 kg 20 rps
4. Quadriceps isometrics 20 rps
5. Ultrasound on left knee 1.8 W/cm square for 6 minutes and on right knee 1.2 W/cm square for 3 minutes.
And
Home exercise plane was:-
1. Quadriceps strengthening as/above at least 2 times a day.
2. Quadriceps isometrics as/above at least 2 times a day.
3. Few precautions like, avoid stair climbing, long standings, walking by holding weight, cross leg sitting etc.
4. Use of knee caps when do walking and remove it before going to bed or when sitting.
Results:- After 15 days the results were astonishing, the patient said that she recovered 70%
but i was sad about the remaining 30% recovery which was lacking but further the patient told me that she was unable to follow the home exercise treatment plane which was recommended to her so this could be the possible reason of lacking remaining 30% recovery.
